The Winner Takes All stipulation was the most consequential and historically significant special condition in WrestleMania VI. Both the WWF World Heavyweight Championship and the WWF Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship were simultaneously on the line for the first time in WWF history. The stipulation was officially added by WWF President Jack Tunney on February 24, 1990. It created unique stakes: if Hogan won, he simply continued his WWF Championship reign; if Warrior won, he became the holder of both titles — an unprecedented situation that immediately required creative resolution (Warrior vacated the IC title). The Ted DiBiase vs. Jake Roberts match carried a unique stipulation: if DiBiase won the match, he would reclaim possession of his Million Dollar Championship belt — which Roberts had stolen from him months earlier. The belt was not an officially sanctioned WWF title but had been portrayed with all the significance of one throughout the eleven-month feud. The stipulation's resolution — DiBiase winning by count-out and recovering the belt — technically satisfied the condition while simultaneously leaving Roberts' revenge incomplete, allowing the feud a degree of continuation.

Dusty Rhodes and Sapphire vs. Randy Savage and Sherri — Male and Female Partners Combined

The mixed tag match stipulation — pitting a male and female combination against another male and female team — was a format the WWF used periodically throughout the late 1980s. At WrestleMania VI, the stipulation gave the theatrical Savage-versus-Rhodes feud its natural competitive framework, allowing both Sapphire and Sherri to contribute to the match's outcome. Sapphire's pinfall of Sherri — the decisive moment — could not have happened in a traditional tag match format.
