WrestleMania 42 was originally announced for the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on April 11–12, 2026, with the announcement made by TKO board member Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson on the February 21 SmackDown. However, following the financial success of WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, the city submitted a higher bid. By May 22, 2025, the New Orleans venue was confirmed cancelled. Las Vegas was confirmed as the new host during Money in the Bank on June 7, 2025, with New Orleans promised a future WrestleMania plus the 2026 Money in the Bank.
