The biggest jump came between 2009 and 2010, when the prize doubled from ₹4.8 crore to ₹10 crore. It rose again to ₹15 crore in 2013 and reached the current benchmark of ₹20 crore in 2016. The only exception was the COVID-affected 2020 season when the prize was halved to ₹10 crore. CSK and MI lead with 5 titles each, followed by KKR with 3.
